Our first project at this local university was completed over 5 years ago and we continue to provide them with AV design and installation services. They recently identified the need to renovate older classrooms to support current technology and become compliant with ADA accessibility laws.
Being their trusted audio video specialist, Studio Spectrum, was selected to install AV systems in several newly remodeled classrooms on campus.
With hundreds of classrooms and AV systems deployed across the campus, developing ways to make all of the rooms work simply and consistently, was a high priority. The installations had to be coordinated around challenging construction schedules, and the final product had to replicate work done by campus media service techs in other classrooms.
Although the campus had standardized on specific models of projectors and routing AV equipment, some classrooms simply required something different, such as the need to support additional wired or wireless inputs, changing the size and number of displays for the varying room sizes.and modifying the appropriate number of speakers to provide the best sound coverage in the room.
Additionally, a number of rooms had significant ambient lighting issues due to window walls and bright room lighting. We were able to substitute brighter projectors and keep the control interfaces the same, providing a better image with no additional learning curve for the users.
By using programmable control interfaces, the equipment behind the scenes is often transparent to the user. This meant that all the technical needs could be met in any space while providing familiar controls.
The client appreciated our technical knowledge and found our crews to be accommodating, self-sufficient, and worked well with their project team.
